Your Passionate Language Expert

My Journey to Language Expertise

Languages have fascinated me since my school days – I was particularly drawn to the English language early on. This enthusiasm led me on several language trips to England and shaped my professional path.

My solid education began at the Institute for Foreign Languages and International Studies (IFA) in Erlangen, where I earned multiple qualifications: as a Foreign Language Correspondent for English and Spanish, a Euro-Correspondent, and ultimately as a state certified Translator for English with a specialization in Law.

The crowning achievement was my Bachelor’s degree in Translation from the renowned SDI Munich.

In my bachelor’s thesis, I focused on audiovisual translation and graduated with an excellent grade of 1.3.

My thesis titled „This Is The Greatest Show“ – eine Synchronisationanalyse in Theorie und Praxis anhand eigener Übersetzungen ausgewählter Liedtexte aus „The Greatest Showman“ (“This Is The Greatest Show” – a dubbing analysis in theory and practice based on my own translations of selected song lyrics from “The Greatest Showman”) reflects my particular passion for creative language work.

Even during my studies, it became clear to me: freelancing as a translator is exactly the right path for me. Shortly after my state examination, I was sworn in by the Regional Court of Bamberg as a publicly appointed and sworn translator for the English language – a key milestone in my professional journey.

Continuing Education & Expertise

To stay up-to-date and to expand my range of services, I continuously pursue further training. I have had the opportunity to learn from other experts particularly in the following areas:

Audiovisual translation (subtitling and dubbing)

Simple (German) Language for barrier-free communication

Modern translation technologies and AI in the translation process

My technical expertise includes certified skills in SDL Trados, both in terminology work and in the professional use of CAT tools and post-editing procedures.

In addition to English and German, I also speak Spanish and am always open to new linguistic horizons – discovering and learning new languages is one of my personal passions.

Engagement & Community

As an active member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ), I regularly exchange ideas with colleagues, attend professional events, and share my knowledge in the field of social media as a representative myself.

A special project is my podcast “Translation Treasures”, which I co-host with my colleague Lisa Neuhaus (translator and interpreter for Spanish). Together we discuss our industry – not only for professionals, but intentionally also for laypeople and those outside the field. Like a cozy coffee chat, we offer insights into our profession in an accessible and engaging way, and regularly invite fascinating guests.

My Work Philosophy

What sets me and my work apart is the enthusiasm I bring to everything I do. The versatility of my work and the creative challenges it presents bring me the greatest joy – and my clients can sense that passion, too.

When working with me, you can feel at ease: I communicate clearly, directly, and on equal footing. For every project, I find the right approach and develop tailored solutions that meet your specific needs.

Whether you need a certified translation, creative subtitling, or personalized language training – I look forward to getting to know you and your linguistic needs!
